Chamber of Commerce Announces 2024 Board

Terre Haute, Ind. – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has welcomed a new volunteer Chair of the Board for the year. Norman D. Lowery, president and CEO of First Financial Corporation, will lead the board throughout 2024. Several new members have also joined the board from various business sectors and local organizations.

“There is a lot of great progress being made in West Central Indiana and Terre Haute in particular,” said Lowery. “The growth we are realizing is due to the collaboration of a network of Individuals and organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce with a commitment to making West Central Indiana a better place to live, work and play. Let’s keep the momentum and the teamwork going, together we can accomplish great things.”

Norman D. Lowery began serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of First Financial Corporation at the start of 2024. Before that, he served as Chief Operating Officer and was first elected to the Company’s board of directors in 2020. He has over 30 years of experience with First Financial Corporation.

The Chamber’s priorities for 2024 include representation of the business community, continued work on the See You in Terre Haute Community plan, and strengthening the bond between the cities and counties that comprise the West Central Indiana region.

The board has several new members as well. The new board members include Jim Behnke, who serves as the manager of the Terre Haute Sam’s Club.

Rick Burger serves as District Manager for Terre Haute, Clinton, Greencastle, Spencer, and Brazil for Duke Energy. This year marks his 46th year with Duke Energy. During his career, he has held various leadership roles in Greencastle, Rochester, Vincennes, Lafayette, and Terre Haute, Indiana.

David Fuson is the Executive Manager of Fuson Automotive. He strives to proudly serve his family, business, and community. Since earning his position in 2014, David has successfully grown and developed the business to new levels. David looks forward to continuing Fuson Automotive’s legacy as the Wabash Valley’s choice automotive dealer.

Andy Volkl is the Chief Operating Officer at Saturn Petcare Inc. Born in Leoben, Austria he moved to Terre Haute from Liechtenstein in 2003. Andy holds an associate degree in industrial maintenance and a bachelor’s degree in business and science. With a passion for leadership and development, Andy is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace and in the community. Andy is a great supporter of the Wabash Valley and is happy to call it home.

Ron Hodge, CFP® is co-owner of Valley Group Wealth Management. Valley Group has been helping family’s manage their finances and plan for the future since 2010. Along with his family, Ron is proud to call Terre Haute’s east side home. When not working, Ron enjoys the outdoors, community volunteering, cooking, and family time.
