What to Expect from the Downtown Terre Haute Eclipse Festival

Downtown Terre Haute will have a front-row seat to one of nature’s most impressive phenomena on the afternoon of April 8, 2024. The Downtown Terre Haute Eclipse Festival will mark the once-in-a-lifetime event with a gathering full of fun for the whole community.

The event will have very limited seating, located in the food truck area of the festival. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring lawn chairs or other seating options.

There will be a limited supply of 2,000 free eclipse glasses available at the event. Glasses will be located at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum and Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce booths.

The festival will feature live bands, a DJ, an eclipse countdown clock, a beer garden, craft vendors, food trucks, kids activities, and a live weather studio featuring Jesse Walker. Wabash Avenue from 6th Street to 9th Street will be closed to ensure everyone can enjoy the main event happening above our heads.

“We’re so excited to share this event with the community,” says Josh Alsip, Director of Community Engagement at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to provide eclipse viewers a safe, family-friendly environment that Downtown Terre Haute is known for.”
