Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce has been and always will be, committed to creating a community that is a great place to live, work and do business. Our mission of “Building Business. Building Community” drives us to execute programs, services, and solutions for the community members of the Terre Haute, Indiana area.

Our focus areas contribute to the growth of our business community, attracting and retaining a talented workforce and overall helping Terre Haute to continue to be a wonderful place to live, work and build a business.

Federal Priorities:

Ensure state agenda priorities are fully-funded to help create the maximum opportunities for advancement of local priority projects. In addition, continue to push for projects that advance our economy and create safer transportation options.

Prison Development
Continue to reinforce the message that as the federal government looks for new prison development, Terre Haute stands shovel-ready for new growth.

Drug Abuse
Support federal and state initiatives that help advance efforts to curb addiction in the region and help build a solid workforce and healthy community.

State Priorities:

Transportation Funding
Continue to support state strategies to upgrade and develop infrastructure for roadways and bridges that impact West Central Indiana, specifically improvements along the I-70 corridor.

Casino Tax Revenue
Support legislation that would open new opportunities for casino tax revenue in Terre Haute and Vigo County. Visit the initiative Terre Haute Is All In.

Regional Funding
Through the West Central 2025 initiative, advocate for regional collaboration that aligns
economic development agendas and serves as a collective voice for regional projects.

Local Priorities:

Community Planning
Lead efforts to create a cohesive and comprehensive community planning effort that establishes priorities, acknowledges current areas of momentum and capitalizes on opportunities.

Defense Development
Through West Central Indiana Defense Network, serve as the advocacy group for the defense industry by enhancing awareness and building industry relationships.

Rural Development
Through West Central 2025 initiative, identify and align regional goals and create opportunities for development in the areas of broadband connectivity, and other quality-of-life initiatives.
