Downtown Terre Haute

In early 2017, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved plans to continue Downtown Terre Haute under the overall Chamber of Commerce organization.

Downtown Terre Haute (DTH) and its mission to “preserve, create and promote a downtown neighborhood that is a vibrant hub for business, entertainment, government, arts and educational activity, attracting both local residents and area visitors” has and will continue through the Chamber.

Members of the former DTH Board continue to serve on a Chamber Committee focused solely on Downtown.

“As with the business community, the Chamber is always looking for ways to grow, change and be more successful,” explains Chamber Vice President Kristin Craig. “We see this partnership as another way to achieve those goals. As a staff, we are excited to continue this important work for our downtown area.”

Chamber President David Haynes says discussions between both the DTH Board and Chamber BOD began when the future of DTH was in question in late 2016.  Talks between both organizations were successful in vetting, creating and implementing this change.

Birthplace of the Coca-Cola Bottle Festival

Join us for the inaugural, “The Birthplace of the Coca-Cola Bottle Festival” in Downtown Terre Haute.

The event will celebrate Terre Haute as the “birthplace” of the original contour Coca-Cola bottle, which was created in 1915 by The Root Glass Company.

The festival will feature Coca-Cola collectible dealers and vintage memorabilia (10am to 8pm), a kids area (10am to 6pm), community stage, live bands (till midnight), beer garden and additional activities downtown.

To be included in the Kid’s Area as a booth or vendor click here.

Downtown Terre Haute Coordinator

Downtown Terre Haute is overseen by DTH Coordinator, Stephanie Pence. Stephanie is also a local business owner and understands the important role that downtown businesses and events play in bringing people here. She also realizes that continuing to work with current downtown businesses and attracting others to the area will only contribute to a thriving downtown area.
