Downtown Terre Haute
In early 2017, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved plans to continue Downtown Terre Haute under the overall Chamber of Commerce organization.
Downtown Terre Haute (DTH) and its mission to “preserve, create and promote a downtown neighborhood that is a vibrant hub for business, entertainment, government, arts and educational activity, attracting both local residents and area visitors” has and will continue through the Chamber.
Members of the former DTH Board continue to serve on a Chamber Committee focused solely on Downtown.
“As with the business community, the Chamber is always looking for ways to grow, change and be more successful,” explains Chamber President Kristin Craig. “We see this partnership as another way to achieve those goals. As a staff, we are excited to continue this important work for our downtown area.”
Craig says discussions between both the DTH Board and Chamber BOD began when the future of DTH was in question in late 2016. Talks between both organizations were successful in vetting, creating and implementing this change.
Downtown Terre Haute is moving forward with help from community and statewide partners.
