WC2025, WCIEDD Join Forces, Recruit Volunteers

Terre Haute, Ind. – West Central 2025, an initiative of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, has partnered with West Central Indiana Economic Development District to bring critical quality-of-life planning to the six-county region. The six county region includes Vigo, Sullivan, Clay, Parke, Vermillion and Putnam.

The partnership will continue the focus of both organizations, along with combining for new goals. Initially the four key areas include: broadband connectivity, tourism, trail development and talent attraction. Volunteers are being sought for teams which will identify key areas of need in each area from a regional perspective.

“WCIEDD has an established reputation of planning in these areas, and WC2025 has been designated to assess and create programming around quality-of-life initiatives. This partnership builds upon both our strengths and allows us to identify key individuals who can contribute to this cause,” says Chamber of Commerce President Kristin Craig.

Adds WCIEDD Executive Director Ryan Keller, “West Central 2025 and West Central Indiana Economic Development District have created a unique partnership to create greater regional momentum. WCIEDD is committed to being an innovative regional driver and we are dedicated to enhancing our regional assets, improving quality of life in West Central Indiana and creating regional opportunities. This partnership with WC 2025 enhances our efforts and is a key milestone for a more prosperous West Central.”

At this time, WC2025 and the WCIEDD are asking for interested volunteers to join the effort. Volunteers representing each county, interested in one of the action areas are invited to join the teams by emailing volunteer@terrehautechamber.com.
