Tell us about your business and what you do.
We are a locally owned and family ran pizzeria with a retro vibe that serves several types of Pizza from our crispy thin to a hand tossed to our new Chicago Style Deep Dish, along with our Hot Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Baked Wings, Delicious Calzones, Tasty Desserts and several other items.
We have several repeat customers come in to enjoy the music and relax.
We have recently added also our new lunch pizza buffet and soon we will have a lunch salad bar and a larger pizza buffet. Both should be added by May. This has been a big hit. It’s quick and easy and we try to add a good selection of pizzas.
Do you have any advice for someone starting their own business?
Yes, definitely of all things talk to other business owners first and get their take on running a business. Set a realistic budget of what you would like to achieve in sales and expenses based upon the local area. ISU’s ISBDC helped us create a business plan. That helped as well. Don’t expect it to be a cake walk. It’s a lot of long hours and several hurdles. Don’t expect everything to be perfect as you will have hurdles. If you expect the unexpected and learn to handle it calmly and effectively you will do well as it takes about 4-5 years to get a business off the ground.
