JUNE RELENTLESS WINNER: RACHEL LESLIE
CENTURY 21 ELITE celebrates the extraordinary with The Relentless Campaign. In a community of exciting projects, progressive movements, and exponential growth, relentless leaders and community members are found at its core. The Relentless Campaign aims to celebrate those making waves in the Terre Haute Community by honoring individuals who truly give the word “relentless” its meaning. This month, we are excited to announce our sixth honoree of 2021 for The Relentless Campaign, who is an individual who truly gives 121%.
Our sixth honoree of 2021, Rachel Leslie, is someone who recognized the true value of advocacy and representation. For years, Rachel has been a valued member of our community. She has served in roles at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and a plethora of volunteer roles. In 2017, Rachel took a leap of faith and founded RJL Solutions when she recognized the need for advocacy and representation within her community. RJL Solutions began as an advocacy firm in Terre Haute and has since expanded to include strategic communications and community development, as well as an Indianapolis office location.
Rachel is an experienced collaborator and registered lobbyist who is relentlessly committed to her work. Rachel advocates on behalf of her clients, strategically bringing them state and federal relationships and unique resources while also working to educate others on specific issues and promote public/private partnerships. Rachel has 15 years of experience in government relationships, strategic communications, event management, and intentional collaboration.
Rachel holds a Master of Leadership Development degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and a B.S. degree in Speech Communication Public Relations and Journalism from Indiana State University. She is a graduate of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Executive Association Chamber University, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management, and the Indiana Leadership Forum. She served the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce in many capacities for seven years, including Executive Vice President, and was the Vice President for External Relations at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College for five years.
Rachel founded many influential programs throughout West Central Indiana including Terre Haute Women in Action, Wabash Valley Leadership Institute, Pomeroy Wellness, and Terre Haute Young Leaders. Rachel participates on several community and professional boards and committees, including serving as President of the Terre Haute Regional Airport Board Authority and President for the National Defense Industrial Association Greater Indiana Chapter. When she’s not advocating for her community, she is spending time with her husband, Broc, and their two boys, Beau and Luke, usually doing “boy mom” activities like racing go-karts, hunting, fishing, and travel baseball.
