Garmong Construction Promotes Brian Kooistra to Executive Vice President

Garmong Construction is pleased to announce the advancement of Brian Kooistra to Executive Vice President. Brian will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery across the company. He will also oversee safety management and union affiliations.

Brian joined Garmong in 2000 as a Project Manager, was promoted to Director of Construction Management Services in 2008, Vice President of Operations in 2012, and Chief Operations Officer in 2015. He served as Project Manager on Garmong’s largest project to date –the $178M Union Hospital East expansion and was also Garmong’s first LEED Accredited Professional. Brian earned his Construction Management degree from Indiana State University.

He serves as an Executive Committee member of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, board member for Wabash Valley Crew, and is a member of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation’s Finance Committee.

His past involvement includes the Indiana State University Construction Management Department Advisory Board, YMCA of the Wabash Valley Board of Directors, and the Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Young Leaders.

A native of Lowell, Indiana, Brian has lived in the Terre Haute area for the past 28 years. Brian and his wife, Millie, are also members of Maryland Community Church. They have two daughters, Maddie and Caroline, and a son, Easton. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, running, and watching his kids participate in various sports.
