HI-99 WTHI Radio and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to Host 31st Two-Day Radiothon

TERRE HAUTE, IN (Feb. 17, 2021) On February 18th and 19th , HI-99 WTHI Radio will host the St. Jude Radiothon in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The live Radiothon will run for two days from 6am to 6pm on HI-99 in an effort to support St. Jude’s unrelenting fight to find cures and save children from
childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

HI-99 has been a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for over three decades – hosting the first St. Jude Radiothon locally in 1991 – and during that time the Wabash Valley community has helped raise more than $1.7 million for the children of St. Jude. During the two day drive, HI-99 will encourage listeners to donate to the cause through compelling stories from St. Jude patients and families, exciting incentives, and a few special guests.

Established in 1962 by Danny Thomas, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has pushed the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80% and freely shares medical breakthroughs with 24 different partner sites in 17 countries.

“We are so grateful to have the Terre Haute community come together with HI99 for the past 30 years to support the kids and families of St. Jude. Donations from this event ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—because all they should worry about is helping their child live. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of generous donors, like our Partners in Hope, who serve as a beacon of hope for families in their darkest hour,” said Abbi Moore of ALSAC, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital fundraising division.

“We’re so pleased to be able to continue to support St. Jude with our Radiothon. Every cent raised brings us one step closer to finding a cure not only for childhood cancer but all kinds of other deadly diseases that impact us all. St. Jude is truly a place where miracles are made – but it wouldn’t be possible without so many incredible donors here in the Wabash Valley,” said Baley Halberstadt, Midday Host on HI-99.

Funds raised during the 2021 St. Jude Radiothon will cover the costs of continuous, aggressive childhood cancer research in the fight to eradicate these life threatening diseases for good.
