Position Summary
Wabash Valley Goodwill has been serving our local communities since 1927. Our mission is to help improve the quality of life for people with
disabilities and other workplace disadvantages through employment and other opportunities for personal growth. The mission of Wabash Valley
Goodwill is fully funded by the receipt of donated goods from our local communities and selling them in retail storefronts and online. We are seeking
someone to direct our donated goods retail operation. This person would direct our retail stores, management, and team members, along with our
jewelry program and e-commerce department. They would ensure each department is following the proper guidelines, providing excellent customer
and donor service, remaining product while providing a safe and clean retail and donation environment for the public. This position is responsible for
managing daily, monthly, and yearly expenses, meeting daily production and sales quota. They are responsible for enhancing revenue margins,
which leads to increased job creation. This position also assists with marketing and loss prevention oversight.

Essential Duties include the following.
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
 Develop and implement strategy for achieving monthly/yearly sales goals/budgets. Prepares and provides monthly and yearly retail
reports, goals, budgets, and quotas.
 Increase net income through the retail sales program management.
 Establish and implement effective training programs for all retail operations employees to ensure outstanding customer and donor service,
attractive presentation and efficient backroom operations.
 Prepares and presents Retail Management Meetings, annually at a minimum. More if needed.
 Provide an appropriate environment for mission-related training employment services.
 Marketing- assist in communicating, creating and managing creatives that are distributed to various media outlets to communicate our
message to the public.
 E-Commerce/ShopGoodwill – Trouble-shooting, decision making, customer service issues, general maintenance and management. May
assist in loading items we cannot sell on SGW onto other platforms.
 Jewelry – assists in managing the jewelry process, from donation through the final step.
 Loss Prevention – reviews reports of internal and external loss prevention related issues.
 Website Management – Manages the website through the website host program, updates with fresh and seasonably appropriate
information.
 Social Media Management – Manages all social media accounts including posting content, scheduling creatives, replying to inquiries and
mitigating any potential threats to the company.
 IT security assessment –continually review those supervised to ensure IT practices are being followed, as set forth by the Information
Security Handbook.
 Vendor Communication- negotiates and communicates with various vendors for new goods and supplies.
 Volunteer program management –works with local agencies of our volunteer program, schedules and assures management of the
volunteers.
 Assist in coordinating fundraising or community events with various local agencies.
 Maintains and reviews employee evaluations for departments assigned.
 Provides leadership, guidance and professional development to staff.
 Reviews and recommends appropriate employee discipline programs.
 Works with the plant on a daily and weekly basis, to ensure proper items are being produced to assist the retail stores in meeting
production goals and quotas
 Adhere to all policies and procedures.
 Ensure all employees are treated fairly, equitably and consistently.
 Assist in the review of applications, conducts interviews as needed.
 Assist in the update of the Employee Handbook, policies, procedures, RHM (Really Helpful Manual), and other necessary documents.
 Assists in mitigating external customer or donor praises, concerns, or complaints.

 Assist with security of facility and properties. Maintains the security alarm systems and security codes for entire network.
 Assist in managing the medical loan program at all retail locations.
 Assist in the managing a voucher program with various agencies.
 Assist in supporting the AccuPOS system and developing related training materials for all retail locations.
 Assist in the developing and maintaining the WVG rewards program.
 Assist in the Dell Reconnect program – specifically the marketing efforts as per the contract.
 Assist in managing all internal marketing creatives, including posters, flyers, signage, marquees, and TV displays.
 Maintains confidential information.
 Ability and willingness to travel.
 Ability to read, write, and understand information presented in writing or orally.
 Refrain from creating or contributing to drama and stopping it in the workplace
 Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises retail stores, management, and all team members, Senior Retail Manager, Jewelry Department, and ShopGoodwill/ E- Commerce.
Education and or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in a management position at a Goodwill facility is strongly preferred. Specific knowledge in the field of retail sales,
merchandising of soft and hard goods, merchandise production and pricing helpful.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving
mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
