Wabash Valley Fair Association Announces Plans for July Fair Events

Vigo County, Ind. – The Wabash Valley Fair Association is announcing plans for the 2020 Vigo County Fair season. With current state restrictions and following Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s Back on Track initiative, the Wabash Valley Fair Association is making changes to the traditional fair experience.

On Tuesday, May 26 the Wabash Valley Fair Association agreed upon a “reduced version of our normal fair”.

The national company, Drew Exposition, which has worked with the Fair Association in the past, has withdrawn from commitments in 2020. The company supplies many of the traditional carnival themed rides and games.

Despite that void, the Fair Board said on Tuesday they would “not give up on the longstanding tradition of a fair”. They began to look at ways to be socially responsible to the community, while continuing with many of the fun and exciting aspects of the fair.

After careful consideration, the Wabash Valley Fair Association is pleased to announce the following events:

  • Friday, July 10 a truck and tractor pull is scheduled.
  • Saturday, July 11 will feature a country music themed concert in the infield. Terre Haute native and Billboard Magazine’s “Country Music’s Next Rising Star” Dylan Snider will headline the show.
  • The evening of Sunday, July 12 will host the World of Outlaws Sprint Car race.

“We chose to do a three-day weekend event so that come that Monday morning, we can focus our efforts on helping the local 4-H participants exhibit their projects without the public,” said Jenny Hamilton, event and marketing coordinator for the Vigo County Fair. “We will be working closely with the Vigo County Health Department and Vigo County Commissioners to make sure all grandstand events are safe and enjoyable.”
