The Sycamore Winery Announces Major Expansion Plans
Terre Haute, IN – October 23, 2019, The Sycamore Winery has announced a major expansion with the future opening of a second tasting room and event venue located in the historic Ohio Building in downtown Terre Haute.
The company says the new location, located at 672 Ohio Street, will add a custom tasting room, an additional event center, meeting rooms, private suites, overnight accommodations, and a rooftop patio. The tasting room will feature all of the winery’s signature wines as well as adult and non-alcoholic specialty drinks.
The new location will tout over 18,000 square feet and create additional jobs and activity in the downtown area. The tasting room is scheduled to open in early 2020; however, owners say that events are already being booked.
“We are grateful and excited to have the opportunity to invest in downtown Terre Haute in such a beautifully restored, historic building,” said winery owner, Sarah Pigg. “The Ohio Building is a landmark in downtown Terre Haute that has been elegantly restored by its current owners. We are thankful for the opportunity to work with them and plan to continue to build upon the contributions and investments that they have made. We look forward to hosting fun experiences and community events and being a major contributor to growth and revitalization efforts downtown.”
Owners Daniel and Sarah Pigg opened The Sycamore Winery and craft brewery, Big Leaf Brewing, on a 60-acre estate in 2017. Its current location in West Terre Haute has made the winery an important tourist attraction, bringing thousands of visitors to the area each year.
