City of Terre Haute, Chamber Launches Community Planning Process

The City of Terre Haute has officially launched a community planning process in partnership with the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and Vigo County, facilitated by RJL Solutions. The research phase of the process begins this month with a series of community forums and distribution of surveys for residents of Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Community Planning Task Force is being led by Steve Holman, Union Hospital and Mayor Duke Bennett, City of Terre Haute as part of the Chamber’s ongoing mission to “Build Business. Build Community.”

“This community planning process will allow the residents and community leaders to define how Terre Haute will grow and develop,” states Mayor Duke Bennett. “The final outcome will be a strategic vision with a list of priorities based on the data collected. This tool will be instrumental in moving Terre Haute forward.”

Residents are encouraged to attend the community forums and take the survey to offer their perspective of Terre Haute’s strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities.

The surveys will be available online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/THCommunityPlan and in paper format at the community forums.

There will be five community forums:

Thursday, February 28, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at SMWC

Wednesday, March 6, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Landsbaum Center for Health Education

Tuesday, March 12, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College

Wednesday, March 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
