David Haynes Named to Indiana Chamber Executives Association Board of Directors

Terre Haute, Ind. – Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce President David Haynes has been named to The Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA) Board of Directors.

Chamber staff, including Haynes, at the annual ICEA Conference in Indianapolis.

ICEA is the leading organization for education and professional development of chamber executives and staff across the state. ICEA represents over 230 chamber professionals representing local chambers throughout Indiana.

“Our statewide organization for chamber professionals targets the very best to serve in a leadership capacity on the board of directors,” said Shelli Williams, ICEA President.  “Our board leaders are at the forefront for identifying national trends in the professional industry to implement at their own chambers and lead all chambers in Indiana with moving forward in the most progressive successes that will ultimately benefit the entire economic climate of this great state.”

The current Board leadership represents chambers of diverse sizes and includes mandatory regional representation of board members.

“ICEA has been a wonderful resource and support to our Chamber and our staff,” Haynes says. “As a team we attended the annual ICEA conference just this summer, along with other professional development by staff members throughout the year. I look forward to taking on a larger role within the ICEA organization to grow our Chamber for the benefit of our members.”

In June ICEA recognized the Terre Haute Chamber with two statewide awards and the organization was a finalist for Chamber of the Year.

On Friday, June 29, Terre Haute Chamber staff was honored with the award, “Passing the Torch”. The award recognizes an organization’s work with and support of young professionals. Terre Haute Young Leaders was recognized, which is a branch of the Terre Haute Chamber.

The award for “Best Website” was also awarded to the Terre Haute Chamber. A newly created Chamber web site was launched in late spring. The organization highlighted increased member access, news and blogging and additional information points available on the site.
