Ambassador – Janet Haag

Tell us about your business and what you do.
I have been a Certified Public Accountant for most of my working career. I began my career working at Kemper CPA Group, LLP in Washington, Indiana. After several years there, I went to work as a Controller for a business that operates convenience stores, restaurants and land management. I later become the CFO and finished as the V.P. of Retail Operations. It was a long and rewarding career, but I was ready to go back into public accounting. My first instinct was to go back to Kemper CPA Group. Due to the need of a CPA with management skills in the Terre Haute office, it was a natural fit for both of us.
I prepare personal and business tax returns, compiled financial statements and reviewed financial statements. I am the Virtual CFO for many of my clients by offering accounting assistance and financial oversight. The “virtual” just means that I am not your full-time employee. I work when and where I am needed. Small companies can benefit from a Virtual Chief Financial Officer by filling the role of giving them a level of financial management expertise that they are not prepared to hire on a full time basis.
Why do you serve as an Ambassador?
When I became involved with the Chamber, I was new to Terre Haute. This was a great natural extension for me as it was a way to get more involved in the community and grow my passion, helping businesses to grow and prosper.
