The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce is seeking an energetic and talented individual to join their dynamic team. This position will afford the opportunity to grow personally and professionally and gain valuable community contacts while learning about community and business development.

Position Overview:

  • Serve as dynamic first point of contact for all individuals visiting or interacting with the Chamber
  • Ensures all aspects of office, including front desk/reception duties are fulfilled
  • Provides administrative support to President and all other team members
  • Full-time, approximately 40 hours/week with some flexible scheduling
  • Eligibility for benefits including health/dental/vision and retirement, paid vacation, holidays, PTO and mileage/expense reimbursement
  • Salary based on qualifications/experience, ranging from $14-18/hour

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-level service to current and prospective members
  • Answering and returning phone calls and emails, managing calendars and scheduling meetings for multiple team members
  • Overall meeting management, including creating agenda, taking minutes and managing technology
  • Assist team members with ongoing events and programming
  • Maintaining and implementing processes for day-to-day office operations
  • Primarily responsible for staffing the Chamber office during normal hours of operation, 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
  • Evening availability required at least once a month, some weekend availability necessary

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Office management or administrative assistant experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace products preferred
  • Experience with virtual meeting technology preferred

  • Desire to take initiative and recommend internal efficiencies
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; managing multiple tasks at once
