We hope this finds you well! I am contacting you on behalf of Team of Mercy, Inc., a non-profit organization for the Wabash Valley. Team of Mercy (T.O.M.) offers assistance to those who have lost a loved one to suicide. Suicide is the second leading cause of death ages 15-35 in Indiana and the 3rd leading
cause of death ages 10-14 according to AFSP, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Nationally, 123 people die by Suicide every day. Locally, in 2019 we lost an estimated 40 lives to suicide in the Wabash Valley. Team of Mercy has assisted over 500 individuals with our services of prevention and aftercare this past year.
On May 16, 2020 Team of Mercy will be hosting our 7th annual “Surviving the Color” event. This event is a 5K walk/run color event for participants of all ages. “Surviving the Color” is dedicated to the memory of all those lost in our community to suicide. While we will always mourn the way our loved ones died, on this day we will celebrate the lives they lived and bring awareness to our community.
