Swope Art Museum’s 14th Annual Mardi Gras Party
Terre Haute, Indiana – March 4 th 2022 — The Swope Art Museum’s largest fundraising event, Mardi Gras sponsored by Indiana American Water, is set for Friday March 4 th 2022 at the Terre Haute Brewing Company from 8pm to midnight. This year’s live entertainment includes the Big Fun Band and the crowning of this year’s King and Queen of Mardi Gras. This year’s royal candidates are Sue Carney, Noelle Cress, Patty Smith, Pat Goodwin and Jeff Johnson. Other events in conjunction with the Mardi Gras Party is the Mardi Gras Dinner at the ISU Scott Business Magna Carta Room.
Revelers from post pandemic years know the best way to celebrate Mardi Gras north of New Orleans is with the Swope Art Museum and the Terre Haute Brewing Company. Starting in 2009 the Mardi Gras event has grown to be one of the most anticipated events of the season and we are thrilled to be back in person!
Credit for the success is due to the Swope Art Hoppers and the dedicated royal contenders, who continue each year to surpass the previous years fundraising efforts. With 2020’s record breaking year in our shadow we are hoping for a successful relaunch now in 2022. All proceeds benefit the Swope Art Museum’s programming like Art Start (ages 3 to 5), Second Saturday Studio (all ages), Summer Art Studio (ages 4 to 18), and to help preserve, protect, and exhibit the Swope’s renowned collection of American Art.
