Midwest Communications and Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity Raise $13,300 During Month Long Fundraiser

On Friday, June 18 , Midwest Communications – HI-99 WTHI, 100.7 MIX-FM, 98.5 The River, 102.7 WBOW, and WIBQ – tabulated the results of a month-long fundraiser to benefit Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity and the 2021 Community Build. Listeners were encouraged to visit select local businesses to support Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity through a variety of special offers throughout the campaign. With the combined efforts of Community Partners, $13,300 was raised to help fund the 73rd Habitat House in the Wabash Valley.

On average, the cost of a new Habitat Home in the Wabash Valley is approximately $75,000. After a year where many were forced to hunker at home, the importance of a safe, sturdy, affordable place to land cannot be overstated. In working with Wabash Valley Habitat Humanity homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Steve Cannon, Operations and Brand Manager for Midwest Communications said, “It is great to give back to the community and help with Habitat’s Community build. We want to thank our sponsors for helping us in this herculean effort and the Wabash Valley community as a whole for making the first Community Build campaign a success.”

Construction on the next Habitat Home is slated for this Fall. Additionally, simply because this campaign has ended does not mean that the needs of the Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity have been met. Year-round donations can be made any time by visiting http://www.wvh4h.org/.
