THEATER 7 PRESENTS Arthur Miller’s DEATH OF A SALESMAN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – May 15, 2017 – Theater 7’s inaugural season continues with Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, directed by Associate Director Arthur Feinsod. The cast, including Brad Venable as Willy Loman and Susan Monts-Bologna as his wife, Linda, takes the stage at the historic Indiana Theater on June 2, 3, 4, 9 and 10.

Death of a Salesman, an American classic about a struggling New England salesman driven by his view of the American Dream, is as relevant today as it was when it opened on Broadway in 1949.  Though widely considered a tragedy, the Lomans’ story is also one of endurance, individuality, and courage.

Theater 7’s production will be distinct for several reasons, including its emphasis on an uplifting message, a minimalist set, and its diverse cast. In Feinsod’s production, the Lomans’ inclusive neighborhood features a jazz club, where Willy meets his sons in a unique take on a pivotal scene. Adaptations and original music composed by cast-member Arnick Shouse add a jazz soundtrack to the play.  Kim McMurray, who thrilled audiences in February as the Blues Speak Woman in the company’s first mainstage production, Spunk, will give voice to the numbers.

All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. except a matinee on Sunday, June 4 at 2:30 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased beginning May 22 at the ISU Hulman Center Box Office or at the Indiana Theater one hour before each performance. In honor of its service mission, Theater 7 will donate a dollar of every ticket sold to a local charity.

Theater 7 was introduced to the Wabash Valley during the summer of 2016. The company is united by their focus on delivering an uplifting theater experience that showcases diversity, simplicity of set and costumes, utilizes a professional core company, and introduces new works to the community it strives to serve.
