The State of Indiana will be allowing golf facilities to be very close to normal operation. There will be 2 people/cart while continuing to practice safe & healthy conduct in social distancing and related protocol as appropriate. Personal protective equipment will be the choice of the participant. Carts & on-course amenities will continue to be sanitized and good judgement will be the order of the day.

In recognition of the difficult circumstances we find our nation and economy enduring, we have lowered the cost of participation so we can attract more people and companies to be a part of the event.

Golf and Scouting have many similarities. Just as Scouting promises outdoor adventure, so to does an afternoon on the links. Similarly, both give opportunities to complete challenges first thought beyond ability and contribute to the development of character.

This annual outing is vital to the Wabash Valley District bringing together our communities to provide the Scouting programs with needed resources to serve more than 1,700 youth and 600 adult volunteers in Vigo, Clay, Parke, Vermillion, Sullivan and Putnam counties.

These Scouting programs provide opportunities for development of citizenship, character, education and leadership. The golf outing committee is dedicated to advancing this mission by securing event sponsors and participants. A recent 3-year study conducted by Tufts University confirmed the significant differences Scouting has on the character attributes of young people. This study specifically looked at the impact of the Cub Scouting program on boys, ages 6-12, compared to non- Scouts.Across the board, Scouts showed growth in the six measured character areas: hopefulness, helpfulness, obedience, cheerfulness, kindness and trustworthiness.

Now that we are into the 2nd century of Scouting, it is more important than ever that we help support the values-based programs provided to the youth & leaders in our area. Funds raised at our annual golf outing support Camp Wildwood, Camp Krietenstein, adult leader training, programming, day camp, summer camp, professional support and the local Scout Service Center at 501 South 25th Street in Terre Haute.

Your support does make a difference and we hope you will join us in the worthwhile cause.
