Parents’ Forum with Senator Jon Ford
This Saturday, August 25, state senator Jon Ford, along with Kristi Cundiff and the Indiana Foster And Adoptive Parents (IFAAP) group, are hosting a public forum from 10:00 am – noon at the Northside Community Church, 1075 N. Fruitridge Ave. in Terre Haute. The forum is open to the public and everyone is welcome. There is no charge to attend.
The purpose of the forum is to update people on what has been going on with the state Department of Child Services, what has happened with the Foster Parents’ Bill of Rights that Senator Ford sponsored during the last legislative session, and talk about next steps that need to be addressed in the upcoming 2019 session. This will be an opportunity for foster and adoptive parents to come and ask questions and get answers for the situations and circumstances they are dealing with. If there are parents who are interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent, they are welcome to attend as well.
The Foster and Adoptive Parents’ Clothes Closet at the Northside Community Church will also be open if people are needing to pick up clothes or other items for their kids.
