Holiday Shoppes at the Y & Health Vendor Fair Fundraiser
The Vigo County YMCA is hosting the Second Annual Holiday Shoppes at the Y and Healthy Vendor Fair on November 6, 2021, to benefit our Family Financial Assistance Program.
Director, Cindi Monds, comments, “The Y in Terre Haute provides many services to all ages and groups. We offer safe, before and after school care to more than 387 children weekly, provide social and exercise opportunities to over 2112 seniors monthly, and serve about 39,328 annually by offering a safe environment to improve physical and mental health. All proceeds from this event will fund the Family Financial Assistance Program, which supplies scholarships to children, adults, and families in Terre Haute and surrounding area. This fundraising event is important because COVID-19 has impacted families financially. In fact, we are seeing a greater need for assistance in our community. Your support will help our YMCA work toward helping others and turning no one away because of inability to pay.”
Our Holiday Shoppe at the Y will have over 45 craftsmen, artisans, and businesses displaying unique items that will surely delight your family and friends as they unwrap their gifts. Shoppes include items from handmade wallets, jewelry and quilts to Pampered Chef, Close to My Heart, and Pink Zebra. Gifts to fit every budget and something for everyone on your list. Holiday shoppes are open Saturday from 9 AM – 3 PM. Purchase tickets for chances to win raffle prizes.
At the same time, the Y is having a FREE Health fair. We are partnering with the Vigo County Health Department to offer a “Vaccinate the Valley”, mobile Covid shot clinic from 10AM to Noon. Pfizer, Pfizer booster, J&J and Moderna shots are available for ages 12 and up. Parental consent is required for minors. No appointment is necessary.
Several other area organizations such as Thrive, MedWise, Vivid Smiles, and Purdue Extension will be here from 9AM – 3PM to provide useful information and free swag to help make this holiday season a healthy one for you and yours.
