Health Center Opening New West Terre Haute Clinic

Health Center Opening New West Terre Haute Clinic

Valley Professionals Community Health Center joined forces with The Connecting Link and other local community partners in 2019 to champion the building of a $1.5 million health center and pharmacy in West Terre Haute. As a federally qualified health center, Valley Professionals recognizes the need for individuals to have appropriate access and availability to health care and related services, as the center’s mission is dedicated to providing health care for all individuals and families.

“Challenges of poverty, unemployment, and uninsured rates pose substantial barriers in obtaining health care services in the area. The investment of a clinic will provide affordable, long-lasting, and positive transformation within the community, supporting the overall health of its individuals and families,” states Chief Executive Officer Terry Warren.

Valley Professionals Community Health Center hosted a small groundbreaking ceremony on September 28th for the West Terre Haute clinic at the corner of National Avenue and South 6th Street. The nearly 5,000 square foot building will feature seven exam rooms, two behavioral health treatment rooms, a laboratory, and pharmacy.  Services offered will include primary care, behavioral health, patient support services, and a drive-thru pharmacy.  Valley Professionals plans to open the much-anticipated clinic in the heart of West Terre Haute in early 2022.

Valley Professionals is partnering with Halstead Architects for the design and oversight of the construction of the health center project. Halstead Architects specializes in community centers and community-focused architecture. The project contract was recently awarded to CDI, Inc. of Terre Haute.

Valley Professionals Community Health Center, Inc. was established as a funded Section 330 Community Health Center in 2007 and is dedicated to providing comprehensive primary health care and related services for all individuals and families. The health center has clinics located in Montgomery, Parke, Vermillion, and Vigo counties.
