Chamber to Host Senator Braun for “Freshman Forum”

Terre Haute, IN – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce will host United States Senator Mike Braun (R) as part of the US Chamber of Commerce’s “Freshman Forum” event series.

Braun, a native of Jasper, currently serves as a junior US Senator for Indiana. A lifelong businessman, he previously represented the 63rd district in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2014 to 2017. In 2018 he defeated Democratic incumbent Joe Donnelly to win a seat in the Senate.

The US Chamber’s “Freshman Forum” events are held around the country to assist freshman members of Congress in continuing communication and dialogue in their home states and districts. This year Braun has also visited the Southwest Indiana Chamber and South Bend Regional Chamber.

“The upcoming visit with Senator Braun is a great opportunity for our members and the entire West Central Indiana region,” says Chamber President David Haynes. “We look forward to an ongoing conversation with the Senator as we work to further advance West Central Indiana.”

Templeton Coal Company will serve as the event sponsor. The Red Barn at Sycamore Farm will serve as the location of Braun’s visit on Wednesday, April 17. Registration and networking will begin at 11:30am. The program will begin at noon.
