Century 21 Elite Relentless Campaign: March Recipient
CENTURY 21 ELITE celebrates the extraordinary with The Relentless Campaign. In a community of exciting projects, progressive movements, and exponential growth, relentless leaders and community members are found at its core. The Relentless Campaign aims to celebrate those making waves in the Terre Haute Community by honoring individuals who truly give the word “relentless” its meaning. This month, we are excited to announce our third honoree of 2021 for The Relentless Campaign, who is an individual who truly gives 121%.
Our third honoree of 2021, Bill Allen, is an individual who has created a positive impact in the lives of those surrounding him. A teacher and Rotarian in the Wabash Valley, Bill truly meets the definition of being relentless. Bill’s nominator wrote, “Bill is amazing at his ability to remain positive no matter what the task is,”. All while navigating a new way of teaching during COVID-19, Bill has still made it a priority to touch the lives of students while also being involved in his community.
Bill Allen has been a teacher for 20 years and currently teaches Science at Terre Haute South High School. Bill’s goal is to inspire his students to love science just as he does. While remaining upbeat and positive, Bill manages a very inconsistent and ever-changing COVID-19 teaching structure. Bill tailors assignments for his students who are both learning in person and over Zoom. Adapting to this new way of teaching has not been an easy task, but Bill has handled it with grace.
Additionally, Bill is a 23-year member of the Terre Haute South Rotary. His nominator mentioned that Bill makes it his priority to be punctual, “He arrives at the 7 am meetings at 6:30 am and greets all members and guests with a smile on his face. He conducts morning prayer and dances around the room collecting ‘Happy Dollars’ from the members for a morning raffle.” Bill is also the Treasurer for the Terre Haute South Rotary. Bill is relentless in making sure all his tasks are completed on time as the Treasurer.
Not only is Bill a teacher and Rotarian, but he is involved with the Boy Scouts of America as well as St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Bill has been married to his wife, Peggy, for 42 years and has a daughter named Megan. Bill enjoys spending time with his family and in his community.
