Century 21 Elite October Relentless Campaign Recipient: Christina Crist
CENTURY 21 ELITE celebrates the extraordinary with The Relentless Campaign. In a community of exciting projects, progressive movements, and exponential growth, relentless leaders and community members are found at its core. The Relentless Campaign aims to celebrate those making waves in the Terre Haute Community by honoring individuals who truly give the word “relentless” meaning. This month, we are excited to announce our eighth honoree of The Relentless Campaign, who is an individual who truly gives 121%.
Our eighth honoree of The Relentless Campaign, Christina Crist, is someone who has not only dedicated herself to providing support and education regarding mental health but has also been a catalyst for change within Team of Mercy. Christina was nominated for The Relentless Campaign for her work at Team of Mercy, a nonprofit organization that aims to assist survivors following an attempted and/or completed suicide. In tragedy, Team of Mercy provides loved ones that are left behind with services, support, and love. One of Christina’s nominators wrote, “ Team of Mercy has brought awareness of the services offered and has helped break down the stigma of suicide and mental illness in our community – I attribute this to Christina”.
Aside from serving as it’s Executive Director since 2017, Christina has an additional deep connection to the mission of Team of Mercy as she is a survivor herself. Christina lost her daughter, Hannah, to suicide in 2013. One of Christina’s nominators wrote, “Christina has taken a tragedy in her life and turned it into
a mission to help families heal after a loss from suicide. She joins families during the worst time of their lives and shows them a path to hope”. In a time of grief, Christina Crist has developed a mission to help other survivors of suicide through Team of Mercy.
Additional to her work with Team of Mercy, Christina displays a deep dedication to building the Wabash Valley as a volunteer and leader. She serves on the board of the FSA Counseling Center and is an active volunteer for 100 Women Who Care, Drug-Free Vigo County Coalition, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, Wabash Valley Recovery Alliance, and the Vigo County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
Christina Crist is truly a relentless individual. As one of her nominators wrote, “When I think about what a ‘Relentless Campaign’ recipient should represent, I think of a person that is passionate and excels in what they do, makes their community a priority, and finds solutions to make the Wabash Valley a better place. Christina Christ absolutely deserves this recognition”.
