CASY Announces ‘Pre-K in the Park’

New Program Offers Parents One-Stop-Shop for High Quality Pre-K
‘Pre-K in the Park’

Vigo County, IN — There’s a new program available to Vigo County parents seeking high quality child care and education. Instead of shopping around, Chances And Services for Youth and On My Way Pre-K has created a one-stop-shop where parents can not only register their child for a Level 3 or Level 4 Pre-K program, but they can also
find employment and educational resources/services for themselves.

This newly created event is called ‘Pre-K in the Park.’ The event will take place on Saturday, June 9th at Herz-Rose Park located at 1515 Locust Street in Terre Haute. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. multiple resource booths and preschool staff will be available to speak with parents and answer all their questions in person. CASY will also be
offering a car seat clinic.

‘Pre-K in the Park’ is a family fun-filled event that will include music, free games and
activities and free hot dogs and drinks while supplies last. ‘Pre-K in the Park’ is sponsored by Success by 6. CASY partnered with Head Start, Vigo County School Corporation, Children’s Museum, Covered Bridge Special
Education Co-Op, Harrison College and Ivy Tech to make this new event available in
our community.

On My Way Pre-K awards grants to 4-year-olds from low-income families so that they may have access to a high-quality pre-K program the year before they begin kindergarten. Families who receive a grant may use the grant at any approved On My Way Pre-K program.
