Annual Polar Plunge at ISU Seeking Sponsors, Participants

Annual Polar Plunge Scheduled for February 22 at Indiana State University

Indiana State University will host the annual Polar Plunge on campus, Saturday February 22, 2020. The event will be hosted at the ISU Student Recreation Center.

For more than a decade, the event has provided funds to support the Summer Special Olympics Games every year.

Locally the goal this year is to raise $41,204 with a statewide goal of around $900,000.

Business leaders and organizations are encouraged to join these efforts as a sponsor or team. See below for more information.

1.       Provide a team of plungers based upon a minimum of $75/person.  Teams with a minimum of 10 participants may compete for “team awards.” These awards include Best Costume and most funds raised. Fundraising may be easily done by logging onto PolarplungeIN.com and setting up one’s own profile and giving site. The site will be available beginning November 1.

2.       Companies should consider varying sponsorship levels that SOI calls “Partnerships.” “Supporting” partners require a donation of $250/$500/$1000 and provides the company with sponsorship recognition for the local plunge and a complimentary plunge participant with each $250 donated. “State Level” partnerships include:

Champion (Presenting) $50,000

Gold $20,000

Silver $10,000

Bronze $5,000

Blue Ribbon $2,500

They include varying degrees of valuable incentives including sponsorship recognition on shirts, brochures, ads, and posters throughout the state.
