A Message and Thank You from the VCHS

We want to take the time to thank everyone who has helped us financially to get through this difficult time. Just like so many others, we still face a great deal of uncertainty about our economic situation due to the pandemic, but we are working diligently to keep the new Historical Museum open through it all. To those who have purchased memberships, made donations, and visited the Museum…THANK YOU! And we want to recognize the organizations who have, to date, provided COVID-19 relief funding through grants that supported our operations:

  • The Indiana Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020.
  • Governor Eric Holcomb, Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), and the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020.
  • Wabash Valley COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund through the United Way of the Wabash Valley and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.

The support of these organizations and community members has made the difference in our ability to remain open. What we really need now are visitors. So if you are comfortable going outside your home, we offer an entertaining and educational place where everyone wears a mask and it’s easy to social distance. See you at the Museum!
