Member Benefit Spotlight: Networking

Getting the word out about your business or organization can feel daunting with today’s ever expanding marketing landscape. Whether it’s maintaining a social media presence or getting the right audience to see a job posting, there are a lot of challenges facing business owners from any sector.

The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping our members find success and promoting members in a variety of ways is a key part of how we do just that. We promote events in our weekly newsletter, share press releases on our website and even offer social media posts on the Chamber’s channels.

“Each week we run dozens of fliers for upcoming events or special offerings from our members in our newsletter,” said Austen Leake, Director of Communications at the Chamber. “It’s a great way to get the word out to our audience of thousands of people.”

Submitting the information about the event can be done by sending the flier to news@terrehautechamber.com. The newsletter goes out every Thursday afternoon.

Another opportunity for members to promote is to utilize the Chamber’s social media. Our monthly engagement is well into the hundreds of thousands of accounts reached. That type of attention can be a valuable and cost effective way to promote things ranging from events to fundraisers or even a special sale.

“We strive to keep our following on Facebook and Instagram engaged with our posts,” said Leake. “Our members and the community at large turn to our page to know what is happening in the business sector. While we focus on events and business news, we have seen a lot of positive reaction to posts about our members.”

Anyone interested in getting something posted to the Chamber’s social media should email aleake@terrehautechamber.com for more information.

“At the end of the day, we know engagement is a driving force in our members’ success and we strive to make that happen as a part of our commitment to ensuring Terre Haute and West Central Indiana has a thriving business sector,” said Leake.
