Economic Development Task Force Celebrates Small Business Week

Terre Haute, Ind. – During National Small Business Week (April 30 – May 6), the West Central Small Business Development Center, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, and other partners are encouraging residents to review their favorite small businesses. When the number of reviews exceeds 25, businesses experience a 10% increase in revenue when compared to the average.

To help with these efforts, the Economic Development Task Force of the See You In Terre Haute Community Plan will be hosting a Google Review Party on Wednesday May 3, from 11am to 2pm at Little Bear Coffee Company’s location on Lafayette Avenue. The event will consist of leaving positive reviews on Google for small businesses so people who aren’t familiar can better understand what makes these businesses special. Members of the community are invited to take part in the event either in person or remotely.

“The small businesses in Terre Haute help make our community what it is,” said Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s Director of Community Engagement, Josh Alsip. “These businesses help us drive meaningful economic progress and it’s important that we support them as much as possible.”

Refreshments will be provided for those in attendance. The event will be casual open house style and attendees can come and go as they please. “We encourage people to leave positive reviews year-round,” Alsip said, “but this week it’s important that we elevate those efforts to show our appreciation.”
