Wabash Valley Leadership Institute Enrolling for Spring Cohort

Terre Haute, Ind. – The Wabash Valley Leadership Institute (WVLI), a partnership between the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) since 2014, is now enrolling for the next cohort. The program is hosted on the campus of SMWC and brings together leaders from West Central Indiana for a week-long (Monday-Friday) event. The 12th cohort

is scheduled for May 22-26 on the SMWC campus.

“We look forward to partnering with the Woods on this important project every year,” says Chamber Executive Director Kristin Craig, a graduate of WVLI in 2015. “Retaining talent in West Central Indiana remains a key factor in achieving our long-term goals.”

WVLI focuses on leadership skills with the intended effects of personal growth in leadership, organizational behavioral skills and potential community growth in a leadership capacity. Brennan Randolph, vice president for enrollment management and institutional technology at SMWC is excited about this year’s program. “WVLI is the premier leadership program in the Wabash Valley. Each cohort brings a new group of emerging leaders from our community together and different synergies are produced in these groups.  The program is strengthened annually to ensure the experience is fresh and relevant to our participants.

The program engages in a variety of ways including self-assessments, lecture, case study review, reflection, team building and peer coaching. Upon graduation, the participants will be capable of building a better team, using conflict resolution skills effectively and building personal leadership skills.

This will be the second year the program will be able to utilize Les Bois Hall. Adult learners from Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties are eligible to participate. Graduates of WVLI will receive three credit hours towards the Master of Leadership Development program or the Master of Healthcare Administration program.

The deadline for application submissions is April 21. For more information visit smwc.edu/wvli or email admissions@smwc.edu.
