The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome new member, Petals by Flannel Rose Boutique. Visit the new storefront at 500 West Honey Creek Drive. Join us for their ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 11 at 2pm.
How long have you been in business?
4 years as Flannel Rose. We are opening on August 13 for the first time as a storefront location.
What is your business’ story?
Longtime friends Becky Anders and Angie Wittenmyer started a couponing group almost 10 years ago, helping thousands of local women save money to better provide for their families. The two women eventually built an extremely successful LuLaRoe business. In 2018, they decided to use their social selling business model to build an independent online boutique in the basement of Angie’s home. They developed a mobile app and website, broadening their customer base throughout North America. Quickly, the business outgrew that space, and the Flannel Rose warehouse was built. And then the boutique outgrew this space. In early 2022, Angie decided to retire to spend more time with her family. In May of this year, the business moved to its current location at the former Fore Seasons/Mulligans Restaurant building on West Honey Creek Drive, bringing this property back to life after a decade of being shuttered. This larger space opened up the possibility of creating a retail space for women of the Wabash Valley to come and shop in person. Becky leads both the Flannel Rose and Petals Boutiques as the sole owner while also staying active in the community and raising her 3 boys with husband Eric. The Flannel Rose Boutique online shop will continue as it always has with live online sales daily on business’s Facebook page and group, mobile app, and website. Petals by Flannel Rose Boutique, the new storefront location, at 500 W Honey Creek Drive, carries missy and curvy women’s apparel for professional and casual occasions; outerwear; shoes; handbags; accessories; outdoor and indoor décor for every day, seasonal, and holiday; and gourmet snacks. The boutique carries popular national and international brands, several high-end products that cannot be found anywhere else in Terre Haute, items from Indiana artists and entrepreneurs, and Petals exclusive apparel and décor.
Tell us about any recent successes or milestones.
Our biggest milestone will be when the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce cuts the ribbon on August 11th! Opening the storefront location is a huge milestone for a business that began with two moms in a basement just trying to make a little extra money for their families.
