Launch Terre Haute, Chamber of Commerce Join Forces to Enhance Services

Terre Haute, Ind.  – Launch Terre Haute is expanding its partnerships and services to the business community, by joining forces with the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce.

After months of discussions and planning, the Chamber Board of Directors and Launch Board of Directors agreed on terms of the agreement, which creates new opportunities for both organizations. The agreement took effect on June 1st.

The mission of Launch Terre Haute will continue under the new agreement, along with expanded benefits within the co-work space and additional opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Chamber President Kristin Craig says similar partnerships have proved successful in other Indiana cities, including Fort Wayne. With numerous shared resources for both organizations, Craig says she believes each entity will advance its mission and goals for members.

“Launch is a great asset to business and entrepreneurs; we look forward to continuing the work that has already been done,” says Chamber President Kristin Craig.

She continues, “The need to consolidate our community’s business development resources and create a ‘business hub’ of sorts was clearly identified in the See You in Terre Haute 2025 Community Plan, released last year. This effort goes a long way in helping our community achieve that goal.”

Launch Terre Haute was founded in 2014 by a group of entrepreneurs, including David Hunt, Brian Jackson, David Dubree and current Executive Director Shelley Klingerman. Modeled after Launch Fishers, the organization is a membership-based collaborative workspace open to freelance professionals, independent contractors, individuals who work from home, entrepreneurs, start-ups, local and remote companies.

“I’m incredibly proud of how Launch has evolved over the past five years and established a statewide presence,” says Klingerman. “It’s been such a pleasure to work with local partners to build a place for our creative community to pursue their dreams and build their businesses.”

Current Launch staffers, including Klingerman and Matt Mershon, have diligently worked with the Chamber to create a smooth transition over the last few weeks.

“Shelley has been a wonderful resource and advocate for Launch, we are extremely grateful for her guidance and partnership during this transition,” Craig says. “We thank Shelley for all the work she has done over the years to make Launch what it is today and wish her well as she continues her career.”

Klingerman will stay engaged with entrepreneurship, innovation and technology around the state, as a co-founder of the new venture studio, NEXT Studios.

Launch Terre Haute is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, located at 619 Cherry St, next door to the Deming. A rejuvenation of the co-working space has already taken place and new amenities are being added constantly, including private work stations, comfortable seating areas and an online conference room reservation system.
