Chamber at Home: Professional Development and Business Strategies

As business around West Central Indiana remains in a state of flux during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and local partners are releasing creative and innovative ways to continue growing and promoting business.

On Thursday, the Chamber published additional resources and information via the organization’s website. The new offering, “Chamber at Home: Professional Development and Business Strategies”, features both local and national opportunities for education, professional development and business marketing.

The Chamber has partnered with Courtney Chipol from the Indiana Small Business Development Center to provide three Business Strategy Sessions, or mini webinars. Each of the videos with Chipol are posted on the newly created page on the Chamber website, along with a handful of other resources chosen by the Chamber staff or referred by Chamber members.

“So many of us are still working, but it’s certainly different work than what we’ve faced in the past,” explains Chamber President Kristin Craig. “The hope that is during this time, owners, managers and staff can use the information we have provided to work on other areas of their business and personal development from home using these online links.”

The “Chamber at Home” offering is just one of the many services the Chamber has released as support to the business community. Shortly after COVID-19 related orders came from state and federal government, the Chamber organized a Business Resource Guide, along with a Restaurant Guide and Business Retail Guide. Craig says staff members constantly update the pages, as information changes constantly. The Business Resource Guide includes information on Unemployment, SBA Loans, the Families First CARE Act and more.

Craig says all the information and opportunities on the Chamber site is available to all business owners in West Central Indiana.

“You don’t have to be a Chamber member to benefit from this information,” she explains. “We are working for our entire community right now. We’re all in this together.”
