100.7 MIX-FM AND THE SALVATION ARMY JOIN FORCES FOR SEPTEMBER SALVATION FUNDRAISER

TERRE HAUTE, IN (Sept. 3, 2020) Throughout the month of September, 100.7 MIX-FM Radio and The Salvation Army will be celebrating September Salvation in an effort to raise money and awareness for the multitude of programs the charity offers to the community. From now until September 25 th , MIX-FM is
encouraging listeners and community members to participate with “25 Days to Fundraise” for The Salvation Army. The campaign will culminate in the inaugural September Salvation Radiothon on September 25 th from 6am to 6pm on 100.7 MIX-FM.

The Salvation Army has provided the Wabash Valley community with food, clothes, emergency financial assistance, school supplies, toys during the holiday season and so much more for the last 133 years.

The Salvation Army is now also helping families who are struggling as a result of COVID-19. The organization is providing emergency lodging, utility assistance, WIFI for students during distance learning, and more for those individuals who qualify. Fearing that the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser of the year – the Red Kettle Campaign – may be in jeopardy due to the pandemic, MIX-FM decided to lend a hand and support the cause.

“For over 133 years the Salvation Army has been there with open arms for the homeless, the hungry and families in need in the Wabash Valley. We want to help this organization thrive well into the future,” said Kevin Lambert, co-host of the MIX Morning Show on MIX-FM.

“The Salvation Army is a light to all who are weary and in need emotionally, spiritually and physically,” said Salvation Army Envoy Sue Linden.

Funds raised during the September Salvation campaign will go towards the purchase of a new commercial refrigerator/freezer combination unit for the Salvation Army’s food bank to keep it fully stocked for those in need. A previous unit stopped functioning in March and the organization has struggled to be able to replace it. In addition to the refrigerator/freezer, money raised will also be used to bring on an additional caseworker to help process applications and provide individuals with necessary resources.
