Chamber Announces Mitch Daniels as 104th Annual Meeting Featured Speaker
Terre Haute, IN – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce will welcome a familiar face to the Indiana business community at the 104th Annual Meeting. Purdue University President and former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will give the evening’s keynote presentation. Daniels will bring his unique perspective and experience in Indiana business, along with speaking on this year’s Annual Meeting theme, “This is Home”.
“The Chamber Annual Meeting is by far our biggest event of the year,” says Chamber President David Haynes. “Around this time of year buzz begins as to who will be the featured speaker. We were very pleased to be bringing Mitch Daniels to Terre Haute. His insight and knowledge of the entire state is going to make this another marquee year.”
The Annual Meeting is helmed by Chamber Board President Marla Flowers, who has served as the Annual Meeting Chair for the past two years. Flowers, Director of Operations at Hulman & Company, says this year’s theme, “This is Home”, reaffirms the local and statewide pride felt within the business community.
“The Chamber Board of Directors recently updated the Chamber’s mission to ‘Building Business, Building Community.’ and I believe ‘This is Home’ only continues that mission,” Flowers says. “Great things are happening right now in our community and in the state as a whole. This is the night to celebrate those accomplishments, while looking to the future.”
As with tradition at the Annual Meeting hundreds of business leaders will fill the Hulman Center for the presentation of five prestigious business awards and the keynote speaker. This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23. The program will begin at 6 p.m., with awards presentations to begin at approximately 7 p.m.
The following awards will be presented: ATHENA Leadership Award®, Vision A Level Above, Young Leader of the Year, Community Health and Wellness Champion and Business A Level Above.
