J. Fords Black Angus To Host Major Wine Industry Leader

Terre Haute, IN – One of Terre Haute’s most popular and prestigious restaurants will open their doors to a national wine industry businessman – who also happens to be a Terre Haute native.

On April 27, Cory Jones of Jackson Family Wines will visit his hometown and attend a Wine Pairing Dinner at J. Fords. Cory 2

“The Wine Pairing Dinners have become one of our most popular events,” says co-owner Kelly Ford. “It’s like a guided tour of amazing food and amazing wine.”

Each Wine Pairing Dinner at J. Fords is created by co-owner and Executive Chef Jeff Ford. Kelly, who holds a level I Sommelier Certification, curates the wine, bringing new wines to the restaurant in addition to offerings from the J. Fords menu, which is recognized with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for three years in a row.

Combining their Terre Haute connection and expertise in wine, the Fords will welcome Cory Jones, who began his career with Jackson Family Wines in 1996 as a district manager and one of the first employees of the newly formed Regal Wine Company.  Over the last 20 years Cory has held six positions in the company and is now their Senior Vice President of National Sales.  Cory has won numerous awards throughout his career with the most recent being the “Jess Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award” the highest honor within the company.image001 (2)

Jackson Family Wines was founded in 1982 by Jess Jackson and is now run by his family.  They have over 57 brands and vineyard holdings throughout California in Mendocino, Monterey, Napa Valley, Santa Barbara and Sonoma, as well as in the Oregon, Willamette Valley.  The company also has wineries in Australia, Chile, France, Italy and South Africa.  Jackson’s “Spire Collection” includes some of the most rare and finest wines in the world.

Prior to starting his career in the wine industry, Cory Jones was a 1982 graduate of Terre Haute North High School and served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp for four years.  He travels back to the Midwest often on business and tries to visit his home town of Terre Haute when possible.

Media inquiries are to be directed to Katie Shane with the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. Interviews and video options will be available during the April 27 Wine Pairing Dinner.
