Kristin Craig appointed to Chamber Vice President

Terre Haute, IN – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce announced today (April 4, 2016) an exciting staff promotion, Kristin Craig has been appointed to the position of Vice President. Craig, who has been employed by the Chamber since 2002, has served in numerous capacities over the last fourteen years, most recently as the Director of Operations and Communications.

The announcement of Craig’s promotion comes just one month after receiving her master’s degree in leadership development from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Impressively Craig balanced her duties at the Chamber and her advanced degree, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. In February 2016 she defended her thesis, which focused on the Chamber of Commerce, specifically dues structure and member benefits. Craig presented her findings and future plans at the Chamber Board of Directors March meeting.

“The research and knowledge Kristin has gained in this process will undoubtedly be a benefit to her both professionally and personally,” says 2016 Chamber Board President Dan Doan. “The Board of Directors looks forward to seeing where Kristin will lead the Chamber in her new position.”

Based on the findings of her thesis, Craig will now spearhead an 18-month improvement plan for the Chamber which will ensure its programs and services are meeting the needs of the membership.

“I’m grateful for the support of the Chamber staff and board while I pursued this degree and I look forward to implementing the research I compiled over the last year,” Craig. “I believe a strong Chamber of Commerce makes for a strong community and an even stronger Wabash Valley.”

A native of Argenta, IL, Craig graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and in 2016 with a master’s degree in leadership development. She serves on the board of several organizations, including: Art Spaces, Inc., Hamilton Center, Inc., Terre Haute Young Leaders, Wabash Valley Leadership Institute and Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers.

She and her husband Scott, both work in downtown Terre Haute. They reside in Clinton with their three daughters, Amelia, Lily and Kate.
